I have been so excited all day for tonight's run.  It's October.  That means everyone goes out to Schnepf's Farm for some festive fun.  In years past this means major traffic along Rittenhouse.  It has long been my fantasy to go running down Rittenhouse passing all the cars in the jam.  So as soon as I got home I changed my clothes because I was burning daylight.  2 miles out and 2 miles back.  That was the plan.  That should put me in the heart of it.  But guess what?  No more traffic other than the regular traffic.  I'm really depressed right now.

Time - 34:14 (avg. pace 8:34)

Splits - 8:31, 8:42, 8:31, 8:31 (one of these miles is not like the other...)

Temp - 73

You're sort of evil, Burt. :)

The second mile is slow as it is the point that Burt realized there wasn't any traffic, what a bummer!

Burt, this is funny, no pressure but I'm going to read your post every day.

From Burt on Thu, Oct 15, 2009 at 11:46:31 from 68.76.197.194

Steve - Is it wrong to want to lower someone's self esteem because they're stuck in a car, and I'm out running free? In the end they'll thank me.

Sam and Chris - Yep. That's the mile where I got bummed out. (I hope bummed out doesn't mean anything bad in England.)

Flatlander - I fear I may have used up all my good material. If it ever gets boring, just scroll back and read. There is some good stuff a few months ago.

Sorry, Burt, how could they do that to you? And how can it be 73 degrees! Really?

Sorry you flubbed up mile #2; you really did have a bad day. Just give in to the depression for awhile; tomorrow is another one.
