Good evening world!
Had a Stress test a couple weeks ago and am ready to go. I've been involved in athletics all my life, but have typically loathed running just to run. Played a mid-fielder in soccer when I was young and spent hours doing wind sprints and chasing a little ball around so I know running is in me, but ... I may be a little too much on the fast twitch side of things. That's okay though. we'll see how this goes. I would like to keep a decent (for me) squat since deep squatting helps my knees and hips to feel good. I should rename the blog, "Heavy and Slow" to reflect my long-distance running sensibilities. lol.
I'll only check my weight once a week. I don't want to obsess over it ... this is about health to me. Ultimately I'd like to get down to 195 lbs. I'd like running to be a part of accomplishing this goal.
09/14/10 Edit: I'd like to keep track of my food intake, but being diabetic ... instead of "calories", I may just keep track of grams of carbohydrate ... this is something I already do. I usually can lose weight with ~225 grams of carbohydrates a day within a balanced diet of protein and fat intake (and normal activity). With running ... I'll have to see how my body responds (I.e., insulin requirements). |
