Running Accomplishments:

Stay in the game, keep in the moment - have conquered a few of the holy grails of running - sub 3hr marathon, ran Boston and qualified for Boston at Boston, 10K PR under 6 min miles, won a couple of 5Ks in my early days of running, running for 30 years and ran 39 marathons.  The transistion to the back of the pack has not been easy, but, acceptance, stay in the game, root for others, enjoy the rest of the journey.  Another off the bucket list second =  Provo Half IM -  have done 6 open water Tris and 6 pool Tris.  Gave the STG IM a good Tri, hope to take another shot at the IM.

Short-Term Running Goals:

2013 Race Plan - STG Half IronMan, Lake Mead Rage Olympic distance, STG spring relay tri, STG half marathon, STG marathon, Cozumel IM, Utah Summer Games Triathlon at Gunlock, Murray 5k with family and Utah Half Distance Triathlon, 187 mile red rock relay,  STG marathon,

*note of clarification - cross training miles from biking and swimming calculated as follows: (as someone may wonder) 20 mile an hour bike = 5 cross training miles (those not familar with a 20 mph pace, good bike effort for long distance,  swimming, convert 1 hour swimming to 5 cross training miles.  For those that do not swim much, great cardio workout.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Enjoy the Swim, Bike Run thru Life - Hope to Run a Few Races Support Sylvie - Be a good coach   - Support Jenna, Jeremy, Taylor and Bonnie - my kids are now into running, who would of thunk it.  long term goals, recover from the ankle sprain, accept was it, have fun racing, mountain biking, faster swimming.

What I Talk About When I Talk About Running ( Haruki Murakami)  things we have may all thought, but may never blog

Personal:

BSRools, the B stands for Brent and the S for Sylvie.  The Rools come from my personal running rools over the years: Never complain once the run starts, allways pick up the pace into the wind and always pick up the pace on a hill. If someone whines, pick up the pace.  Once a goal is set, no whining, regardless of setbacks.  We were running when running was not Kool.   Kool comes from a race story, ran my first race, 5K wearing a "beanie that had "Kool Aid Kid"

Colleen is a trooper, she got up at 5: 15 and ran 2 miles with me down the Burr Trail and 2 miles backup.  This was after she ran the half marathon the day before.

Nevels may appreciate this part, I was up early, waitng for Colleen outside, eating a zone bar and watching the stars.  Nothing like watching stars without city lights, cresent moon, vensus and three shooting starts.  Wow what a morning.  The back drop of the rock formations as the sun crept over the rocks was spectatcular.  Collen gets 100 commando points for supporting me.

The crisp country air was just so sweet, rode my bike for 10 miles after running with Colleen, got Sylive out of bed on on her bike, we rode another 12 miles.  Sylive complained a few times about her quadsu, but thought the bike ride helped loosen up the muscles and getting the blood flowing.

Words cannot describe the beauty of the Escalante and Boulder area.

Entertainment - arrived at Boulder a few hours before we could check in at the lodge, it was Boulder Heritage day, non-stop sinners, it was fun at Anatazi (think I help spelled this right), state park, enjoying the entertainmend.  The best - Boulder Corals - singing a mix of gosphel and good old boy.

Watche the "Spirit of the Marathon"  brought tears to my eyes, darn, would love to be in the hard run training game again.  It was hard to watch, really don't feel like a runner.

Went running will Milly today, she does not say much, kinda a dull personality, but, she keeps a darn consistent pace, doesn't quit. We have a regular weekly date set up. I cannot tell Syvlie, she may get jealous.

Another great thing about Milly, she does not mind if I run all over her, leave my foot prints and drip sweat on her. She is a Star Trak trooper.

The love and hate relationship with Milly has started.

Ran 5 miles at a 9:33 pace with a 2% incline, no stopping. Since Milly does not talk much, listened to the IPOD, music from "Milly" Sirus to old time rock n roll, rap, love songs, good old boys, etc.

Early morning run, longest run of the year. Very slow pace, no happy with the pace. Anyway, the goal is to finish St.George, keep bumping up the miles. Roadie 21 miles along the parkway, the carbon bike is so much fun to ride. It will be interesting to read the blogs on today's races.

Weight Watchers - get back in the game - Rode 90 minutes while watching the tour, great to see Lance hold onto 3rd in GC.   Rode the bike with Sylive while she ran.  Today is a recovery run.  Who never know who you might see when your run on the Jordan trail - Olaf (SLTC, long time running bud)  Sheldon (Locamotion) longer time running bud.  Both were running 16 miles.

RHPC sighting, I think, looked like Smooth and one or the RHPCs running with her, didn't think quick enough to say anything.

Upper body weights, balancing, wall squats, 200 crunches, another 30 minutes on the bike.
