Ben Lomond Peak with a little add on toward Inspiration Point from the North Fork trailhead tonight. First time running that section, I have always started at the top of the N. Ogden divide, running to where it intersects the North Fork trail at the base of the final climb.  Learned a couple of things about the North fork trail as compared to the regualr route.  I thought it would be shorter (it's not) I thought it might be as pretty (it's not, but close) I thought it would be more climbing (it is) I thought it might be the dreaded "green tunnel" (it was).   All in all a great run, felt a little flat going up the last climb to the peak, but might have been because I kept stopping to watch all the goats (20-30 right near the trail) All by myself up therre tonight, not a soul seen on the whole 16.5 miles.  Oh, and some Jacka$$ took the summit register.

Run totals: 16.5 miles 4280 vert, 2:53, plus a little time on the top and goat watching.

Made the saddle in 1:10

I love mountain goats. There is no possible way you could post too many pictures of them. Majestic.

awesome pics. That area looks amazing. And nice running, you are going to rip it up at the bear.

BTW, Bryce nice run, I did that run a couple weeks ago and was alot slower, i did detour over to the pond and then bushwacked up to the saddle... I think I prefer this trail over the divide trail, especially after hitting the lower saddle...

Thanks all,

Gdoc, come on up, its only 40 minutes, though I know it seems farther driving north :)

Oreo and chad, have fun up there, save Wheeler for an evening run, my opinion, much nicer in the shade. 2:53 was the round trip moving time (doesn't include 10-15 minutes goofing off at summit and watching goats) including a little down toward Willard, not much mabey 3/4 mile out and 3/4 back. I had ambitions to run further, but legs and energy said nope.

Jun, these guys are cool! I agree, every time I see them up ther I am in awe. They are almost tame, I was with in 15 feet of these 2 before they decided to move. HUGE too, their shoulders/back were almost chest high on me and I'm 6 ft.

Aaron, it is amazing. I try to remember to be thankful everyday that all of this stuff is 10 minutes or so from my front door. Thanks for the encouragement on the Bear, though it my rip me up.

Hey, nice pics Bryce. I really need to get up there and do Ben Lomond before the snow flies.
