4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

AM:(~11.5 miles, 1:29:32).  26:33 wu/25:15 cd. Fartlek workout 20 x 1`w/1` recovery.  Warm-up and cool down was somewhere around 2.5-3 miles.  The fartlek portion was a little shy of 300 meters -- I was going to go down the track, but I have a sinus/head cold and thought a workout based solely on effort would be better right now than one where I was trying to hit a time.  Anyway, it was slightly faster or right at 5K effort (~ 6:45 pace -- which means the first 15 felt pretty good, and the last 5 were kind of tough ;-)).

PM:(4 miles easy).

Have a wonderful day bloggers!

Nice job!

I'm still impressed that you can keep track of 20 repeats. I hope your cold is short-lived.

You are unstoppable lady! The cold situation sucks. I've had bronchitis/sinus infection for about 2 weeks. Today when I was on the trail I did the ol' runner's blow (discretely of course) but after I'd done that, my face/forhead/nose made this incredible noise like letting the air out of a ballon when you've stretched the opening to make 'that sound'. Yeah, my face. I didn't know I had that much pressure going on in there. Anyway, incredible Thursday effort! Get better soon!

Yeah, I would lose track around 11 and wonder how many I'd done. Then I'd stress out the rest of the day in case I didn't do enough. Nice work; hope the sinus stuff goes away quickly.

That's a GREAT fartlek! AWESOME miles as usual! Hope your cold goes away real soon!

Thank you everyone -- I don't like colds ... but so far it is more of an annoyance than anything serious. Dean's only lasted a couple of days, so I am hoping mine will follow the same course.

Luzy -- yuck that sounds horrible. Be careful and get well soon!

Auntie and Carolyn, I actually do 4 sets of 5 -- it makes it easier to keep track of than counting 20 of them ... and with 1` it is easy to keep track of the amount of time and get an idea (e.g., 20 of them took 40` so 10 of them should take 20`, etc.).
