10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

59:03 (+ 1 hour of pool running).  Tough run, but fun. I am back to the trails!!  I ran about 35 mins and then hit a series of trails near the track.  I ended up bushwacking it a little, but it was ok.  An easy introduction back to trail running.  I LOVED it.  No snakes, no falls, just me and the beautiful fall weather.

I was famished after my pool run.  I ate my lunch a little early because of it ... hopefully my banana and apple will hold me over until dinner!

I hope you are having a wonderful day.

How deep of water do you run in. Great workout. Great determination. I can start pool running myself except the water is only 4ft deep. I will keep in touch

Hi Kory, I jog in the deep end with a flotation belt. I actually "jog" back and forth to the 5ft area (just so I can't hit the floor with my feet). I am enjoying it (especially now that I have a waterproof bag for my MP3 player - I listen to BBC mysteries made for the radio and it makes is much less boring). I feel that of all the cross-training I have tried (spinning, elliptical) this is the "closest" feeling to running, and I can burn a whole bunch of calories in less time than cycling. And, I can do "intervals" every single day (if I want). It is sort of hard on your hip flexors though, so you have to watch out and stretch. I am always STARVING after doing it for 1-2 hours.

Thank you for keeping in touch ... I appreciate it ;-)
