5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

36:52.

Off to Phoenix to get fit for my orthotics ... there was an awesome rain last night, thunder and heavy rain. All the saguaros are full of water today, they look plump and happy!

Bon! I missed your bday! I would have liked to have been one of those people who interrupted you every 5 minutes.

Good to see you off and running some miles :)

Happy belated birthday! I'm sorry I missed it.

I'm feeling plump, but it's not because I'm full of water, and it's not making me happy.

You must have escaped all the tornadoes! Hope the orthotics do the trick!

The orthotics (I don't have them yet) are pretty interesting. They are different from most (says John anyway) and I am sure they will take a lot of getting used to ... but he said the inflammation that they saw on the x-ray was "pathologic" and this is the only way to correct the type of tibial rotation I am getting. I wanted to see if there were some exercises I could do to eliminate the issues, but apparently, this is an actual "skeletal" problem.

Thank you for the birthday wishes, I have been feeling all of my 48 years this week, but I guess that is ok.

Carolyn, I am sorry you are having so many troubles and haven't been able to run much. I hope things get better soon. Have you looked into any "group aerobic classes" or anything that you might be able to fit in? It might be just the thing to get you motivated again (or just try to do the elliptical for a week, it is so mind numbingly boring you will be willing to get up at 2AM to run just to not have to another minute on the dratted machine ;-) ). Seriously, I am sending as many positive, energetic, thoughts I have your way (which, quite frankly, unfortunately, arent as many as I wish I had for you ;-) ).

Arizona weather has been big news this week. Good luck with the doc.
