5K: 21:26 (2005)

4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

1 hour 10 mins on the good ole elliptical machine (I can't be mad at it anymore because it looks like we will be friends for a while).

Lots of good racing today, The Great North Run (Ritz rocked it in 4th in the high 62s), Philly half, where track stand out Meseret Defar ran a 67:44, her first time at the distance (and had a sprint finish with Lineth Chepkirui, 67:46!!!) - Shalane Flannigan ran the 4th fastest 1/2 marathon time by an American woman in 68:36.  McMillan Elite athlete Brett Gotcher was first american, 9th place overall, with a 62:50.  Ryan Hall struggled, but still finished 14th with 63:55.

Ah the evilliptical--an injured runner's friend. I too have spent more time on it than I would have ever liked! way to tough it out and I hope you are out pounding the ground again soon!

Hey Bonnie - sorry about the stress fracture; hope you can start training in time for Houston. I've been watching your blog since I found out you were going too.

On a side note, how the heck do you last that long on the elliptical?? I always feel like calling it quits after 15 minutes...

Hi April, sorry the elliptical is no friend of mine, kind of like a relative ... I am stuck with it, but I don't have to like it ;-)

Joe, I HATE it ... I don't know how I can stand it for an hour (by the way, I have NEVER been able to run more than 50 mins on a treadmill, ever). I do have a little radio and there are TV's, so that helps a little (I watched *MasterChef* last week, that was exciting ;-) ).

Sorry to read of your injury Bonnie. Hang in there and stay fit.

Sorry it is a stress fracture, Bonnie! Eliptical sucks; I would never last that long. Stress fracture is when I discovered biking, and I LOVE my bike.

Thanks JD, I am running vicariously through you, so you enjoy ;-)

Auntie, I only have a mountain bike and mountains are still off limits here (still major snake season). Maybe if I get to Flagstaff some time soon I can hit some trails.

I did see President Carter on TV last night while I was working out, that was kind of cool. He was also on The Daily Show - he zinged Fox News twice.
