4 mile: 28:10 (2005)

10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

1:42:10 (52:25/49:45).   Hilly 2 loops ... the last 2 miles of each loop are uphill with hills, and to make it worse there was a super tough headwind today (a storm is blowing through).  I was a little worried when I saw the first split, since it was faster (by over a minute) than what I have been running this in.  Plus, the 2nd loop was with my orthotics.  So, I was pleasantly surprised to see how much faster the 2nd loop was.  Slight blister on my right foot from the orthotic, but not nearly as bad as a few weeks ago, so I guess I am getting used to them.

My flight was delayed out of Atlanta last night so I got home nearly an hour later than planned (about 10:30) ... it was a very long day (I got up at 3:30 my time and got to bed at 12:30AM).  But, I slept really well last night so I felt pretty good today.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday!

Bon, you are great. You travel everywhere and still put in the miles, nice job :)

Dan -- you are super yourself. When are you heading to KY? Did your wife go with the kids or are you two playing single until Thanksgiving?

We are heading up to Flagstaff on Wednesday, Dean's son will join us there (from college in San Diego) so it should be fun -- and we might see snow.

I am extremely set in my ways (this includes running) - so I do whatever I have to in order to get it done. It is both my strength and my vice ;-).

Thanks Bon :) Me and the wife sent the kids w/o us ;) So we will be going down on Wed evening. We have been doing this for about 4-5 years now with the in-laws and it is so peaceful. No cell phone. Love it. Running is harder down where they live, so I will be literally running up and down huge hills (Appalachian mountains), but it is sooo beautiful

Snow you say? We get a lot in Dec-Feb so I can go w/o snow for Thanksgiving. Suppose to be 60 in KY Thursday so that may be nice :)

A Flagstaff Thanksgiving! That will be nice.

I did almost the same run while adjusting to my orthotics a couple of years ago. A five mile loop twice, once without, then once with them. I thought how uncomfortable my shoe felt with the orthotics in as I was tying them up, but then they felt more comfortable than the normal shoes when running.
