10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

1:35:58 (48:05/47:53; 8:43 average) ... great run!  I can officially say this was an "easy" run on Jeremy Ranch Road (I did not think I would ever say those two words together).  I did not want to run more than 1:40 today - I always run by time (versus distance) but Greg usually gives me ranges of time (like today was 90 - 105`) and I almost always hit the high end or just over.  Because of the race last week, and the way my legs felt yesterday, I really wanted today to be an easy day.  I felt so good with 3 miles to go that I picked it up a little (even though it was uphill most of the hard climbs are over by then).

It was really hot (we did not get started until after 11:30), there was  headwind for the first 2 miles after the turn-around, but it was actually a coolish breeze and it felt good (probably because I was not running very fast).  Tomorrow is my day off, I hope to get a good walk in to keep my legs fresh because I have a hard workout on Tuesday.

Happy Sunday bloggers.

Bonnie, sweet run, that is a tough run up there. By the way, we are going to have a fun easy run from our house on the parkway and BarbieQ/food after. When are you moving to Arizona? We are shooting for the weekend before St.George or two weeks after. Also, I am going to try and run at Liberty park on tuesday moring if you up for pacing an inconsistent runner.

Great job today! Looks like your consistent training and two-a-days are paying off!

Hi Brent -- either of those weekends would work. We will probably be hitting the road to Tucson sometime the week of the 26th. Unfortunately, Tuesdays seem to be workout days for me right now so I will be heading to Sugarhouse for hills ... my easier run on Tuesdays are in the evenings. I usually go down to Liberty Park on Wednesdays and Fridays?

Hi Shauna, thanks. I have been pretty steady at 50-60 miles/week for over a year and feel pretty good. I think that running doubles is better for my body - I don't feel nearly as tired during the day as I did when I was running the same mileage in the morning only - I doubt it will make me "faster" but it certainly is making me stronger. I am just hoping it will ensure I remain injury free! I will likely be increasing my mileage slightly next Fall when I gear up for PF Changs. A big plug for Greg - he has been my coach for almost 5 years and I have not missed one day of training because of injury (not an easy feat for someone who is almost 46)! He helps me train smart. Good luck this week, it looks like it will be a GOOD one for you!
