10K: 43:33 (2010)

10 mile: 1:13:35 (2009) (1:12:15 split in 1/2 marathon, 2011)

1/2 marathon: 1:34:31 (2011)

marathon: 3:19:15 (2013)

Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

1:07:43.  Might be a little closer to 7.5, but who knows, so I am rounding down.  Very very pleasant run ... 35F and sunny.  I wore my orthotic this whole run, yea!  The last time I had worn it for 50 mins of a run (a couple Sunday's ago) I got a huge blister.  Now the blister is more of a callus so it was actually comfortable.  Not only that, and maybe it is in my head, but I think my legs are less fatigued with them than without.  I am having some PF problems, but I can tolerate it (so far) and I am hoping it goes away.

I am so very busy today.  I am teaching my class (and we are at an extremely difficult section of material - it is a challenge for the students, and for me) and then I am also doing a guest lecture in another class (not as difficult material but very long) so I will be in class for almost 6 hours today --- plus this mornings 3 hours of prep (because I did not get finished last night - even though I did not run until 8PM).  Oh well, next week is the last week of classes YIPPPEEE!

Then I have almost 6 weeks to get two papers submitted ... yikes.

Have a wonderful day bloggers!!!

Scott left a very funny YouTube video link on my blog yesterday -- so I am giving you all one here -- it is funny particularly to me, because I work with many people like the "blond guy":

Have a laugh.

That's funny!

So glad the orthotics are working out! I have abandoned plans to travel to warmer climates, because now we have snow, and I can ski. That just makes everything better.

I really admire how you get your workouts in when you are so busy! Dedication.

:D thanks for the laugh.

Love the video!

I tend to round down my mileage too. (Although, with the garmin, I find myself running the extra two hundredths of a mile to come to an even tenth. Not always though). I like looking at my running log and knowing that my totals are solid running miles.

Reading about your career has me thinking; as students, we seldom realize how our teachers are actually students as well. Keep those synapses firing!

Catherine, hello, I am glad you liked it!

Kim, it is better with the accents. It is great because you know its coming, but you still wait for it and laugh (or at least I did).

allie -- you need a laugh a day from now until this weekend!

Auntie, whoohoo for skiing!!

JD -- yes, it is a constant learning process. I did not realize when I was a student how little time I would have to keep learning though ;-).

Thanks for the laugh!! I think we all know a few 'Brain Surgeons' :)
