Short-Term Running Goals:

3:20 marathon - Eugene Marathon, April 28, 2013 (can I say I really want a sub 3:20? but I will be happy with 3:20-3:23) -- whoohoo!

Some good intermediate races 15K - 1/2 marathon, to gauge my fitness level (done this, hit a 1:34:35 1/2 marathon in March 2013, on a hilly course)

Going after my 10 mile PR in Fall 2013

Maybe some good 10K races after the infernal Arizona summer is over!

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to be one of those runners who is still running in their 80s (or 90s?).  You know the ones, who look all grisley and fit?  That is what I would like!  Until then, I just want to work hard and be as fast as I can, for as long as I can.

61:54. (+50 mins of pool running).   Did not feel that rested ... but it felt good to be outside and running.  I wanted to pool run for an hour but I had a meeting and just did not have time (it takes time to drive to the pool, park, shower for the pool, shower after the pool, etc. so it is really a hard time commitment to make some days).  Anyway ... 1:50 mins of exercise is ok for a Tuesday ;-).

I forgot to tell you about NCAA Division I cross-country.   U of Arizona women were second in the PAC-10!!!  This was a huge upset as PAC-10 is one of the powerhouses of cross-country (Stanford, Oregon, Washington) it is going to be a great cross-country regional meet in the middle of November.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day, and don't forget to vote!

I'm very impressed that you managed to get in 1:50 of exercise.

you are really sticking with the pool running. do you enjoy it?

From Bonnie on Wed, Nov 03, 2010 at 18:54:48 from 128.196.228.134

Hi KP, I don't really enjoy the pool running, but I want to make sure I am doing the same number of hours of workout that I will when I am running like I was before -- so I am cross-training until my mileage gets up there again. I am not sure though, I might actually keep up a day or two of pool running, because I do believe it is a good alternative to running without the pounding. I can run up to 80mpw for a little while, but I am not sure I can do it for very long ... so maybe I will try running for 75 and then doing 2+ hours of pool running and "maybe" it will be almost as good as running 80+ miles ...

But, probably, once I am back up to 70 mpw or more I won't have time to go to the pool ;-).
