what a day , we woke to the first snowfall in eight years, we had  a inch of snow which for us is a blizzard, the race was is Starkville, MS population 22,000. Starkville is about 90 miles North of Union but there was no snow in Starkville. The weather in Starkville was Partly Cloudy NW wind around 15 with temp around 40. We boarded the bus at the fitness center and we were driven 13.1 miles to Phoebe, Ms population 300 . THe run from Phoebe to Starkville is rolling hills few houses and lots of cows. I ran with my good friend Hugh. He had never ran that far before but he left me at the eight mile mark and finished in 1:44. It was very cold to start the race but once the race began I was too hot. Next year will not wear as many clothes. I kinda struggle the first couple of miles but I hit the 10 K mark at 47:00. The next next two or three miles went pretty good but I struggled around eight and nine. I hit the 10 mile mark at 1:20. The last three miles a really tough. From mile 10 to mile 11 you gain 90 feet in elevation and the hills keep coming to the finish line. Overall I was very pleased with my time and hope to build on it .

Great race, good job hanging in there when it got tuff! Thats a very good time and sounds like a hard course. Keep the training up and you will definitley build on this result!
