9 AM 65F humid. Today's weather is very unseasonal but tomorrow the coldness will be back. Anyway, I was going to Duke's tracks for a tempo run. Did 1 mile warm up (7:45) and then 4 miles tempo (7:08, 7:12, 7:10, 7:09) and a 1 mile cool down (8:41) for a total of 6 miles. I was very happy with my performance is these humid and warm conditions and especially after I haven't done any quality workout in the last 3 weeks. It wasn't easy at all. I really worked very hard in those 4 miles tempo.

Great job on those 4. Wish I could get to that point again. Only a few weeks off and I feel like I have to start all over again.

Scott, I think they say it is 3 weeks conditioning for each week off for you to go back to where you were....

I also did a couple of easy weeks after my 10K. I think some down time is good. Especially after a marathon!

What helps me is to set my eye on a new race in the future. Maybe I can interest you in the Raleigh Rocks Half Marathon at the end of March 2009?
