Complete rest today before the race tomorrow. I'm watching TS Hanna with some worry. It is going to rain tomorrow for sure but I'm more worried about the winds. It suppose to make landfall in South Carolina sometimes tomorrow morning and then move over us pretty quickly. I hope the race will not be cancelled.

I never raced in a heavy rain. I did some training runs while it was raining but it was always light rain and light wind. Any tips for running in heavy rain and possibly windy conditions?

Its almost 10:30pm, so hopefully you will read this before your race.

First off, HAVE FUN. How often can you say you have run a race in Tropical Storm or Hurricane conditions. Once you have mentally decided that, I think everything else will go good for you. I have found in rainy conditions, no matter what you are trying to do, once you have decided it is ok to get wet and not worry about staying dry it makes you less stressed.

If you do a warm up or have do do a lot of standing around, try using a different pair of shoes..or go barefoot. Keep your racing shoes handy in a plastic bag and pop them on just before the start. No sense having them soaking up all that water and getting heavy even before the gun goes off. Also in you pic you look tall. So try drafting into the headwinds. Get right on someone else shoulder. And if you have a tailwind take full advantage of it.

Well thats about all I can think about.

Good Luck !
