9:15AM 78F, 50% humidity. Really nice conditions this morning (relatively speaking) and these nice conditions will be here for a few days. I went to the Duke tracks and did 5.25M (I didn't count well the laps so I did one extra - my stop watch revealed that ex post). I included 4 x 400m speed laps in them (1:39, 1:43, 1:43, 1:37) with 400m jog between. I ended with 2 miles (7:50, 7:35). Walked a bit to cool down after I stopped my watch. Over all a good work out although my legs were a bit tired. I should definately do the speed work in the middle of the week rather than on Friday. But these 400m repeats were an extra and I'm OK with the not so fast pace I did them. I really like Duke's tracks, it's an excellent facility.

The Olympics starts tonight and I know these are usually not a big deal here in the US. But is is hard to exagurate how much I am excited about them. Looking forward to watching the openning ceremony tonight and the competitions in the following days. I plan to watch mostly the track and marathon (GO! RYAN GO!) races and some of the swimming and cycling races and of course the beach volleyball (wink)...
