I live in upstate NY. I am the oldest of four kids. I've been running since the spring of 2003 when I decided to shed some extra weight and maybe go out for my high school cross country team. Currently am doing MS in Education. Hope to teach Social Studies one day. I have the most amazing girlfriend ever, and she frequently goes running/jogging/hiking with me. Going to marry her one day :)

7:30 AM - Woke up still tired, despite zonking out at the rebellious hour of 10:30ish last night. Oh boy how I live the party life, heh!  Headed out on the back roads.  Was a frigid 13 degrees, although today's high is finally expected to break 30 for the first time in a week, and as the low tonight will be warm (27), I should feel a lot better running tomorrow morning.  Ended up feeling nice on the run today.  Did 10k in 46:37.  Good for 7:31 pace.  Then finished with 100m striders and a cool down.  Overall, can't complain.

Overal Mileage:  7 Miles   Overal Time:  46:37 (10k) / 52:00ish overall  Pace:  7:31/mile for the 10k

I noticed the new picture with the same girl. Is that your girlfriend and does she run with you?

Yup. That's my Emmy! She's amazing :-D Um she goes to the gym a lot, and when we can fit in runs together we do :) She did a Turkey Trot with me last year (First major road race for her!! and she managed like 7:45 pace! Not shabby huh?!)

She ran the 200m dash in track, so a 5k to her is a long race. Amazing that I was once like that too. Now I hardly bother registering for a 5k. By the end I'm just warming up!

Emm is going to graduate next year :) So excited!!!

That is how my wife was. She had never run more than 400m in a race and then she met me. I hurt my ankle pretty bad around the time I met her, and was on crutches for 3 months. I signed us both up for a 5k fun run shortly after I was walking again and she about beat me. She did do a half marathon in August and only trained for one month, so she does have the ability, just not the motivation. I would like to see her get into it a little more, but she likes a soccer ball in front of her more. She is way supportive though, and is usually always at my races.

You make a cute couple!

Emmy is a doll :) I love her so much. It's bad because I can't help but think about her all the time. And she has come to both of my marathons, even the one up in Vermont, and she does her best to go to all the races she can. I know she could definitely have a nice 1/2 time or 15k, though I know she likes the shorter races. I'm determined to get her to run a few more 5ks and smash 21:00.
