Goal Type:

Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

6 marathons- Chicago 2001 (3:57...my goal was 5:00!), Chicago 2002, Venice Italy 2003, Okinawa Japan 2007, Okinawa 2008, Gold Coast Australia 2008

Plenty of half marathons, 10ks, 5ks, etc. Some PRs, some age group awards.

My most significant & defining running accomplishment was being named "Most Dedicated Runner" every season that I competed on my high school cross country team. A decade later, I still try to live up to that award!

Short-Term Running Goals:

Get closer to my marathon PR and eventually bust it!

Be more competitive (in time and in spirit) in shorter races.

Run a marathon before June 2009.

Run another marathon before Jan 2010.

Run at least 4 days a week.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Boston Qualifier...even if it takes me til I'm 80!

"Run" a triathlon.

1 mile to the gym to meet my running group (since we sold my car!), then 7 miles with my group. I got a ride home and sent some of my cookies & fudge out of my house too!

We did a nice route today, out gate 1 and down 58 until the 3.5 mile mark. When we turned around, I took us through the Sunset beach area and it was beautiful today! The water was a gorgeous color...another run where I wish I had my camera! Before I leave, I'm going to go out and take pictures of all of my favorite run routes. Then when I get a treadmill, I can make a slideshow of all of these pretty runs to watch and maybe I'll forget that I'm on the treadmill! Ha!

And another week meeting my 4x a week goal! Woohoo! I might consider raising my goal next week. I'm not sure I'm ready to commit to 6x a week yet like Sasha suggested, but I can certainly try for 5...but that means I'm going to either need to get more running clothes or do more laundry!

I hear you about the running clothes and laundry. I had been doing 4 days/week and then went to 5 days/week for about a month and now I'm up to 6 days/week. I've got to do laundry twice/week to make sure I have clean running clothes (and because I've got 4 kids).

Be sure to post any pictures you take of your running routes.
