Well, we arrived safely at our home in Conakry, Guinea (West Africa) last night.  We and our luggage all arrived!  I pulled out my new workout video and 'shredded' for 20 minutes.  (Thank you Carolyn!)  Hopefully I'll start running again by next week sometime.  When I can get up in the morning after jet lagging.

First run since getting off the plane.  I actually wanted to run yesterday, but the rain was coming down.  'Tis rainy season here and it rains and rains and rains.  It was raining when I ran this morning, but I figured I'd run any way.  It wasn't raining too hard, so it worked out just fine.  Was able to do 4 miles with a time of 40:09.  Splits:  10:23, 9:48, 9:56, 9:58.  AP  10:01

Well, made it back on line!  Thursday was able to get in 4 miles:  10:11, 9:11, 9:18, 9:30 with an AP of 9:32.  Been shredding about 4 days a week.  Goal is to increase my miles in 2 weeks time.  Will probably resort to running mornings and evenings in order to increase my mileage.  We shall see...

Well, today I started out thinking...let's do 10 miles.  After 5 miles I thought...well let's try 8 miles.  After 7 miles a said...that's enough!  I think running in the tropics is much different than running in the desert.  My body needs some more time to get used to the climate here.  We're in the midst of the heart of rainy season which is great, but lots of sloshing around when I'm running.  We'll see how next week goes....
