Felt strong today, heard an owl hooting which was kind of cool, and noticed some brittlebush in bloom.  Thought about extending my run, but I really want to do a week with 6 days of running.

Nice job on the run. Something to think about. You start to feel better after the first 1-2 miles. Once you break past those first 2. You will really start to enjoy it alot more. Have you picked a race yet??

I definitely agree with you. I always hate the first mile. I've got some weight to lose and have pains that scare me enough to hold back a little. I am anxious to increase my distance, so hopefully my legs will toughen up soon.

I haven't thought too much about a race yet. I've never ran 3.1 miles in my life and I don't really know how long it takes to go from absolutely no running ever to running in races. I think for my first race I would like a fairly big one, so I know there will be a few people behind me.

The only owls I've seen are the burrowing owls that like to hang out along the farms in Gilbert. I took a picture of a couple of them the other day.

Those are cool. They used to have a bunch of those at the riparian area on greenfield and guadalupe, but people like to let cats they don't want loose there thinking it is a good home because their are lots of birds and they ate all the owls. The owl on my run was in a tree and scared me a little. I never saw it.
