Ugh..  A big DNF, and I feel like such a failure today.  Considering how badly things were going and the fact I had to work soon it did not seem wise to slug it out and kill myself today. Better to live and fight another day I told myself.   However I don't feel good about it all and I think deep down something gave up today.   Why?  I just don't know..    I'm hoping soon an answer will come to me.

Dang, Steve. Sorry to hear that. It must have been extra frustrating after winning the race last year. Good luck in the search for answers.

Steve- Hang in there! Everyone has poo poo races and wonder why we do this? I wish you well.

Sorry about your race. But they are right, some days your body just doesn't have it and you don't know why. You're an awesome runner though, so you'll be back with a bang on your next one.

well, i most certainly can relate to this.

although mentally it is tough, you are certianly not a failure. if anything, you got a great long training run in. you will find the answers and you will live to fight another day.

Steve, You summed it up perfectly. Not worth breaking something inside today. You know there will be other races. Good luck finding your answer.

Sorry, man. Sometimes we just have those days. You'll bounce back, no worries.

Sorry to hear you didn't feel well. Tomorrow is a new day and I am sure you will be back to form in no time.

From jtshad on Sun, Jun 14, 2009 at 08:43:12 from 12.187.226.152

Sorry the race didn't go the way you wanted but you are right that this is just one race that isn't worth injury issues for a long time (and more races to come). I could tell you were struggling when I caught you at 18M.

It was great seeing you again today. Stay strong and recover well.

Just one of those days. Live to fight another day, sounds smart to me. You have nothing to prove, your past speaks for itself!

From Barry on Sun, Jun 14, 2009 at 20:54:44 from 75.174.16.168

Steve,

I am sorry to hear about your DNF. But i know that you will come back stronger next time. Keep your head up and do not let it get you down!

Steve,

I have some questions for you. What is the best time to call you? Or you could call me at (208) 760-7830.

Thanks,

Barry

Nice job Steve. You'll come back stronger and faster. It looks like you ran fairly well until you had to stop.
