Olympic oval for a workout of 3x3 miles at LT pace. 5:12-5:20/mi with 2 lap recovery at 6min/mi. Last Saturdays workout left me feeling a little dogged tonight. Some funny guy made a comment about our FRB jersey, I told him to get used to it because he would be seeing the back of it a lot on the circuit this year!

Steve, ran the Olympic oval last sunday after reading that you ran on it. It sure beats running on ice and snow. I am going to do it again this sunday for some kind of speed workout. How do you keep track of your pace in the oval? Do you use your Garmin inside?

Brent, the oval is 442 meters long on the inside running lane. There are 400m marks at a few places depending on where you start. And yes, it is a great place to run during the winter with a good synthetic track and lots of people to talk to.

You can either do the math at the end of the workout or you can pre figure the distance before the beginning of the workout and then compare against your splits. It may not be precise but it will be very close if you do the math correctly.
