Six easy miles out jogging on the trail. 7:20-7:30/mile pace. Just punching the clock, so to speak. I keep wondering what kind of toll this is going to take on my arms carrying a three pound torch for 26.2 miles. Has any one done this before?

I've carried a water bottle in my hand for the whole 26.2 miles in a couple marathon. But that's no where close to what you will be doing. Have you done any practice runs carrying some type of similar object?

Strap your kids carseat to a pole and plop him in. That will get you trained for it...

I recommend attaching the torch to one of those poles that patients in the hospital use when they walk around while connected to an IV.

In all seriousness, Steve, I think this is a really honorable thing you're doing.

My name is Barry and I was recommended to you by my cousin Kory Wheatley. He informed me that you are a running coach and would be able to help me take my running to the next stage. Kory did not know how much your fees were so I am asking for a cost for training . I still need to talk it over with my wife first before I make any decisions. I could really use the help and hope this works out. My blog name is http://barry.fastrunningblog.com/ Thank you.
