No run today, In fact I'm not sure when I will be able to run again. It seems that I have had my good fortune run out a bit at the last marathon. You see, I took a nice little spill on my cursed motorcycle. And it's put me out of commission for a little while.  Fortunately I was not injured too badly and I hope I might be able to recover as soon as possible.  I consider myself to be very lucky on this one and I'm still shaking as I write this entry.

Next time I may not be so lucky. So any of you ever get the idea of buying one, Do yourself a favor and shake your head so you can get all of the rocks out first. Then and only then will you be able to make a good decision.   Dark Horse out...

Glad to hear you were not too seriously hurt, but it is a nasty business wrecking on vehicle with so little protection.

Get well. How is the bike?

From Cal on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 16:55:24

Be careful out there! I'm happy its not more serious.

From ultrajim on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 16:58:00

Been there done that twice on motorcycles. Hope you were wearing a helmet. First time was when I was 17, the 2nd time was when I was in my mid 30's. Scary both times, but nothing serious. After the second I sold the bike a short time later, figuring I was living on borrowed time. Glad to hear that you weren't hurt too badly.

From steve ashbaker on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 16:58:44

Well.. I still runs. But a lot of cosmetic damage though.

From steve ashbaker on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 17:01:16

Yeah, I hear you. I'm done with the thing as far as I'm concerned. After I get the parts for it I'm going to sell it for whatever I can get out of it.

From Superfly on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 18:09:34

Sorry to hear about the crash. I want a bike pretty bad but then I hear stories like this and change my mind. Hope you feel better soon.

From josse on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 20:22:01

Oh man, sorry to hear. Bikes bad, running good.

From Lybi on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 20:42:29

What?! Oh noooooo! I'm so sorry Steve....

I hope you recover quickly!

And now that I got that part over with let me just say that you are in TROUBLE! You told me you were selling that thing. I naturally assumed that meant you had stopped riding it. Humph!

From Brent on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 21:29:30

Sir Air Darkhorse, sell the bike ASAP. I speak from a fractured hip on a motor cycle. Anyway, your so darn fast running, you can run faster than that motor cycle. You just cashed in all you commando points, be safe.

Stay Kool, Recover Quickly, B of BS Rools out

From Jody on Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 23:24:39

I am so sorry to hear about your spill on the bike. Glad you are okay and recover quickly.

From Adam RW on Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 22:23:45

Steve I am so sorry to hear this. I'm glad that you are relatively ok. Keep us posted.

From James W on Thu, Apr 17, 2008 at 00:15:34

What's the damage to you, Steve? No broken bones, I hope? I won't bother repeating what everyone else has already said about the bike, since you are already planning on getting rid of it. Needless to say, this is the reason (or at least one of them) I promised Lybi I would never buy a motorcycle . . . get well soon. I will pray for a speedy recovery for you.

From wheakory on Thu, Apr 17, 2008 at 00:35:30

Steve I'm sorry. I will pray for you that you heal quick. I've always wanted a street bike to ride to work myself.

Get well your too good of a runner to be laid up. Let me know if you need anything.

From Jon on Mon, Apr 21, 2008 at 14:44:42

Just heard about this- hope you recover quickly!

From Chad on Fri, Apr 25, 2008 at 13:18:09

Steve--I'm embarassed to say this is the first I've heard of your accident. Man, I hope you are ok and on the road to recovery very soon. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I'll assume you need to miss the Law Day Run, but we'll miss you even more.
