The good news is that my knee was no worse for the wear after the hard downhill miles yesterday. The run this morning was sluggish but fine. I have to work today so I got in and set-up stuff for about an 1.5 hr and then out the door for a modified Memory Grove/City Creek run. The hummingbirds from yesterday were there again but it was later so the sun/shade effect was lost. Also ran into Albert and stopped to talk briefly. His training is going very well. I'm eager to see how well he does at Des 10K. Hopefully this time next year I'll be able to give him a run for his money but this year I'll be happy to see the back of his head during the last long straight away... Avg. 8:06 HR 137

I think I ran past you, going the other way, again.

Glad your knee is holding up. Is it your right knee?

Yes it is and yes that leg is funked up. It always has been. My foot kicks out and really since I can remember I've had issues on and off with it.

Were you the guy coming down into City Creek while I was on my way out?

From fly on the Wall on Mon, Jul 13, 2009 at 18:53:38 from 168.179.215.242

We passed on the road on the west side of the canyon, above and west of Memory Grove. I was heading toward the capitol and you were heading toward the hairpin turn. I did say hello. One of these days we will be heading the same direction.

Before I was close enough to recognize your face, I was thinking, "that guy looks fast but his right knee doesn't pivot correctly." Sorry just my random thought.

I also have funky biomechanics. Mine includes extreme over pronation and a left foot that points out about 30 degrees.

Here is a very fast runner with very unusual bio mechanics-

You can't tell in the picture but his feet don't point forward when he runs.

It is amazing to me what some people can overcome. I'm happy with what I'm able to do. On a couple of occasions I've had people tell me after a race that they had counted me out as I passed them because of my leg kicking out only to find out that they couldn't catch back up later... Thank you for the link.
