Single: It is so nice to be putting in an entry again. It was only a few days but the rest has felt like forever. I was able to catch up on some sleep getting over 7hrs each night, one night I even got 8.5hrs. Still very behind in work etc but that is my normal state of being. Now to the important part. I ran today. I ran to SH, then ran into BC. We started talking about his Park City race and I ended up doing one more mile than I had planned. However, my knee was not in pain. I would best describe it as "tight". I still take it easy-low mileage Thur and Fri and continue with the Docs plans of using Sat as the "real test." Mi 5-R3 Avg. 7:59

At least you didn't experience pain. I'm glad that you made it through the run. The tightness could be because you haven't used the tendons like you normally would have. Keep the ice coming and continue the low miles. Nice job on the sleep too.

From Adam RW on Thu, Aug 28, 2008 at 09:32:01

Thanks Kory. Two more nights of sleep for you. Just remember go in level headed and confident. I know you can smash 2:40 you just have to know it too.

I am glad to hear about the knee. Taking it easy now is more important so you can have a great St. George race.

From Adam RW on Thu, Aug 28, 2008 at 09:50:36

The even harder thing is trying to catch back up with all your training. It is amazing what missing a few days of blogging can do... :)... The knee was still tight this morning but actually felt better this morning than yesterday morning.

Adam - Thanks for the comment about confidence. For some reason your words light a spark inside that I needed. Thanks.

Knee- Be Healed!

From Adam RW on Fri, Aug 29, 2008 at 09:36:09

Jon, I sure hope so.

From Superfly on Fri, Aug 29, 2008 at 09:52:02

Hope things are feeling better, mainly the knee. Don't stress about the time off. Your base is solid enough that you'll be just fine.

From Adam RW on Fri, Aug 29, 2008 at 09:55:24

Clyde, Thank you. Right now I'm concerned about tomorrow. I'm still going to line up for the race, my knee feels "good enough" I just want to make sure that I can drop out if something goes screwy...

From Adam RW on Fri, Aug 29, 2008 at 09:56:38

Clyde, I forgot to ask do you have any more races between now and St. George?

From Superfly on Fri, Aug 29, 2008 at 10:28:13

No major races. There is a 1/2 or a 20 mile race next weekend down here that I may do. But more as a training run and not an all out race.

Good luck!
