Sorry it caused you pain again, but it seems to be behaving itself better the rest of the week. Are you resigned to just having a semi-bum knee forever?

The truth of the matter is that leg has giving me problems since 1996. If I look over my training over the last 13yrs this last year was more the exception than the role so it may be the case. Even with getting my mileage to 50 this last week I've been able to maintain my stretching that and the glucosamine seem to be a good combo. I just need my knee to behave long enough to give me a real uninjured attempt at 2:30... I just want to toe the line of a marathon knowing I've prepared and don't have baggage. If that will happen I don't know. This week I've also tried complaining a little less about the knee and sleep. I want people to visit my blog and not think it is just a rant page about "oh poor me". Right now all I can do is think positively and stay patient. I keep telling myself any running at all this year is a bonus and next year is when I'll "worry" about what is or is not happening. I just need to get the larger family balanced, with increasing work obligations this year and am mostly using the running as stress relief.

I just read your weeks of injury woes and I’m sorry to see that you are still struggling with your injury. I think the problem with truly competitive people is that we push ourselves to the limits. The problem is that we seem to find those limits. It is nice to know that you couldn’t have pushed your body harder but it would be nice to have a failsafe switch to stop us before we crossover. That or only a week punishment, at this time I would have settled for just one month. Unfortunately, I wasn’t on the blog when I had my piriformis issues. The good news is I got over mine (the knee this is a separate matter) and with how aggressive you have been with pool training/PT/massage and seeing multiple people I’m sure you will get over yours as well. If it really is the inflammation I ended up needing to go on steroids for about 10days. It wasn’t fun, it made me moody but the first day the pain went away. Then just a slow build to everything (GOOD) that happened in ’07 and ’08!!!

I'm sure you didn't think your two-liner would get all this response but obviously I needed it so thank you!
