Single: Well I'm surprisingly able to walk today. I was a little concerned with how my knee was feeling going into it and the downhill nature of the beast yesterday. This week will be easy but higher mileage and then I think I'll switch my next two weeks and have the same with a few workouts. Next up should be SL Half on the 30th. After a nice full 8hrs sleep it was finally nice enough this morning to walk to church. Then a quick lunch and during naptime headed over to City Creek for some uphill running, ran from 4700ft to 6400ft. This was my furthest up yet. After the road ends I went onto the trail, this quickly becomes single track, crosses back and fourth three times over the creek and then basically disappears.  I bushwacked my way another half mile to 6.5 from the gate and then turned around and back down. Even down was slow today but it was all about recovery anyway. Mi 13-R3 Avg. 9:14

Hi Adam, Yeah it is a really thrilling thing for me to see. I saw your results at the Provo half. Pretty cool I must say. It's always a thrill to move up and get closer to your opponents. Good job!

Thanks Steve. If there is some middle ground we could meet early on Saturday morning I would be up for some SLOW overdistance with you... Let me know. I'm not sure what you are doing with your group but this week I just want distance, distance, and more disctance any pace will do (as long as it is easy).

From Phoenix on Sun, Aug 10, 2008 at 22:46:13

Adam, I'm up for 2 hours if you are willing to slow down to ~8:30/mile.

From Adam RW on Sun, Aug 10, 2008 at 22:55:06

Eric, Today I was only doing 9's so I think I could manage to speed up to 8:30s... How early to do you get into lab? I'll probably be doing about 8 miles each morning this week. Let me know if you are interested in one of those.

Adam, rest assured the trail doesn't really disappear at that point. You were approaching Smuggler's Gap--if you continued southeast, you would be heading up Black Mountain and running the Wahsatch Steeplechase trail, although in the opposite direction of the race.

From Adam RW on Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 12:14:57

Chad, I saw a sign for Smuggler's Gap it was toward a rather steep hill if I was looking at the right place. That trial is pretty narrow for a race but I guess at that point there aren't large groups of people. I still want to run that course one of these days...

Jon, I thought I was doing it this year until WBR popped onto my calendar.
