I was really tired last night. Managed to get to sleep about half an hour earlier. Woke up this morning with a cramp in that right calf again!? Same as last Thurs,  two days after a treadmill workout… I massaged in some Tiger balm and headed out the door. Windchill said 14°F and I felt it. By the end of the run though I was a little hot. I never pushed it, I was thinking people talk about LSD runs, I did a TOF run (let me know if you can figure that one out…). I did a modification of the loop I did on Mon, I added on some more upfront so that I only did one loop of SH. After the run my calf was still a little tight and my right glut was sore. The plan for the rest of the week is three easy shorter days, I’ll work on massaging and stretching out the cramp then next week I go back to increasing mileage. Avg. 8:11, HR 133

With not getting enough sleep, past history of injuries, and increasing mileage, I would hold off on any fast running except strides right now. Wait until you start feeling feisty and rested most of the time, then start throwing in mild 3 mile tempos.

Thanks Sasha. I was actually thinking the same thing. I really need a more solid base right now. I will hold off on any speed at least through mid-Jan. I think part of the problem was doing speed on the treadmill. It changes your stride ever so slightly...

TOF- hmm, this might take some thinking.

Jon, The gauntlet has been thrown down. It will probably turn out being tamer than what your imagination can come up with. It more so reflects the drudgery of today’s run… I’ll give one clue the O is on…

Chad is the winner! Said it wasn't that exciting...

Yeah, I was being much more creative than that in my thoughts. I thought it had something to do with the freezing cold- F=frozen? Oh well.
