Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

I didn't run today and it stinks.  I was limping around on my ankle all night at work last night.  It is not swollen or bruised so surely it is a minor sprain.  I iced it at all opportunities.  Today I got up and still could not walk without limping.  I tried jogging down the hallway and it was a no go.  So here I am taking a day off that I do not want to take off.  The pain seems to have moved more toward the back of my ankle.  I read online that you could run on a mildly sprained ankle with proper support after 24-48 hours.   I'm going to get an ace wrap today and ice it as much as I can and maybe tomorrow jog a few miles...I hope.  If not, I will have to air up the tires on my bike and hope it doesn't ice over the roads anytime soon!  I am loathe to lose any of the conditioning I have worked so hard to get--I think that is my big fear right now!

Sorry to hear about the pain still lingering :( I know you won't like this... but.... be careful with the bike too. Some injuries do not like the bike and won't heal while using it. My calf was like that. I am sure you could find some info on line aobut it. With ALL you have done, a few days off will NOT hurt one little thing. It really won't make one speck of difference at all. You'll get up and run on a perfectly healed ankle monday and think- DANG my legs feel all fresh and isn't this AWESOME that I feel this good and PAIN FREE!!! :D You know your injury the best, be careful and hang tough sister!!!

Happy Halloween! How is the ankle?

Happy Halloween to you as well! My little ninjas and tinkerbell are pretty excited for the party at our church this evening. It's the one time of then year I let them eat lots of candy(the next day it all mysteriously disappears--happens the day after Christmas too). Anyways I am still limping and running is a no go. I am going to try to get to the fitness center at my work and ride the exercise bike today, the tires on my bike are flat and a mess--my husband will have to fix them before I can ride it. I am icing as often as possible and just hoping that this will pass as soon as possible! I have got to find something to do though or I will start gaining weight!

You kids sound darling ;) have fun and RICE!! Rest, Ice, Compression and elevation.

2-3 days of no running will not hurt your weight. 2-3 weeks could! RICE baby RIce :)

HaVE FUN!!!!
