 My left achilles tendon started hurting on Sunday and yesterday's run aggravated it.  I wanted to run as flat as a course as I could today to avoid making it even worse so I ran out to the LPT.  Achilles was very sore to start and I was hoping that it would feel better as it warmed up.  Unfortunately it never did and actually started to hurt worse towards the end of the run.  I didn't really feel like I was pushing the pace at all but could not run very fast because of the sore achilles.

I appreciate the offer but, honestly, it is not a big deal. It flares up every once in awhile and I just have to wait it out. I promise it is not because of the loud kids. I have no idea what life is like not being surrounded by loud kids. I will throw some ice on it tonight (promise).

Sounds a lot like my lower calf muscle (or as Paul has taught us, my soleus muscle) discomfort which seemed to get worse near the end of my run yesterday. I've been icing it a bunch and it does seem to help some.

Have you ever experimented with heel lifts for achilies problems? I think I'm going to try some for my soleus problem.
