Ran 3 miles to the rec center to meet the running club.  Today's run was just a preview of the 5k on Thanksgiving.  I am still undecided on the race and after today's run I am leaning towards not running it.  I ran with Jim and the pace should have been comfortable but for some reason I had a hard time maintaining a decent pace.  He started to pull away from me during the last 1/2 mile and I just didn't have the desire to keep up.  I'm not sure what is going on with my body.  I just couldn't get my legs to turn over.  When I finished the 5k (20:51) I didn't feel fatigued at all but during the run I had a hard time convincing myself to push.  I'm not sure how much of it is mental and how much is physical.  Ran back home and got my girls for a run around the block.

My mileage is way low this week so I will probably go out tomorrow to make up for the missed day earlier this week.

Andy --

You're too diehard!!

Are you having any fun??

I'm sure your girls loved their run!! :)

(If it's any consolation ... I think you're pretty stinkin' cool!!)

Thanks Teena. You are way too nice. No, I'm not having fun right now (is it that obvious?) I figure that I need to keep running so that when it becomes fun again I will have some level of fitness.

You can come and run on my treadmill while I use the elliptical ... we can tell jokes and "wo is me" stories and have a great time!! :) :) :)

Did you break dance when you were younger?? Grab a piece of cardboard and pull out some of the moves! That has got to work!

Hope you have a wonderful day.

I took a few break dancing lessons in 7th grade but that was a long time ago. Maybe I need to break out the parachute pants and impress my kids with my moves.

Sweet ... I took break dancing in 7th grade too (just wanted to meet the cool boys)!! Seriously!!

Yes, break out the pants ... put the little ghetto blaster on your shoulder and have at it!!

(That is sweet Andy ... good stuff!! "Go Andy, Go Andy, Go Andy")

Andy! It's just a phase. I call it the psycho cycle. Coming off a great race season, it's okay to fall in an occasional rut, isn't it? You've had a rough week w/ eye trouble and loosing your beloved pet. You'll find your groove and drive again soon. I'm amazed at how hard you push yourself.

Andy.....you describe what I was feeling all last year. I am still trying to get over it.....I can say that things are starting to get better.

Andy...

Maybe you just need a couple of days off from running. I know last week when I had that tooth infection, I felt GREAT after not running for two days. Today is a different story. After my trip to Milford this weekend, I feel completely drained and I don't have any desire to run. I hope things turn around for you.
