Quality for the Olympic Trials in the marathon Personal: I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.
I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)
I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Skied Mt. Tallac, the most prominent peak seen from South Tahoe. There was a 2 mile approach that felt like backpacking with the skis and boots on the pack. How did we do that for 11 days on the JMT last year?!
PM - Mountain biking 7 miles around the trails. |

AM - 8 miles on the Rubicon Trail around Emerald Bay. Amazing trail, right on the water. One of the most beautiful trails I have ever run.
PM - skied 2 runs at Alpine Meadows in awesome summer conditions. We were able to ski right to the car then 5 miles biking while Jake ran his afternoon workout. |

AM - Jake and I skied 2 laps (skinned 3000 feet) at Alpine Meadows (went to Squaw Valley first, but Alpine actually had more snow)
PM - We did an awesome mountain bike ride w/ another 1000 feet of climbing on some XC ski trails ~11 miles. |

AM - Ran 8 miles on the bike path in Incline Village. There were some huge houses along Lake Tahoe on this section - hopefully I'll have a place right on the lake like that one day :o)
PM - The weather cleared so we went up to Mt Rose, skinned up to the summit, and skied a lap... battling some pretty large suncups on the descent. |

AM - Skied Ellery Bowl at Tioga Pass. SCARY and challenging, but also fun! Probably wouldn't do that again (at least the 50 degree top part). 1700 ft never took so much out of me before.
PM - 4 miles on a nice trail in June Lake. |

AM - Ran 8 hilly miles around June Lake. 7500 ft altitude is tough!
PM - We got to Mammoth Lakes in the afternoon... took a leisurely bike ride around the upper lakes, then skied a lap on the mountain after the lifts closed down for the day. There is a TON of snow here! |

| | The morning was dedicated to skiing. We skinned up to the east side of Mammoth Mountain and skied a few laps on some steeper terrain, then came back over to the main side and took a groomer back to the bottom. A little over 3K feet total.Â
After a solid pool/hottub/lunch session, we did an incredibly scenic mountain bike ride on the Inyo Craters loops. 13+ miles and about 1100 feet of uphill. It was all sand, so even the flat sections were a lot of work! This area has an unreal system of forest roads and trails. |
