Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Whew, what a vacation! Back from our trip to the San Juans...I had such a wonderful time and was so happy to enjoy it with great friends. I was able to do all the hikes and runs (35 miles worth in 4 days) with only a little discomfort. I'm taking today off, with maybe some arm weights and a cruise on the bike this afternoon.

PM - Strength training - upper body weights and single leg lower body. I decided to go out for a jog just to see how I felt. Legs were very tired, but in a good way!

Great photos! Sounds like the time away may have been what you needed regarding the concerns/discomfort you had with the injury recovery prior to the trip?

Yeah, for some reason hiking is better for me right now. It helps to not be working (less stress and less sitting) and having a great time with friends :)

It seems like you are recovering really well from surgery! Great news.

That's very good news Andrea.

I actually did some running this morning. Things are progressing so well. (Fingers crossed.)
