Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Wednesday Workout - 2x200m, 4x800m, 2x200m with 200m jog b/w 2s and 400m jog b/w 8s. Splits were 41-42, 2:53-2:54-2:53-2:55, 41-41. I am very happy with the workout times. The 800s were challenging, and it was hard to get my breathing under control during recovery. My speed is coming along nicely but I still lack quite a bit with endurance and mileage is low. Any guesses for what I can run at the SOJO 5K? I ran 19:13 five weeks ago.

As long as I break my time from 5 weeks ago, I get 2 chikin biscuits!

From Jake K on Wed, Oct 16, 2013 at 13:39:20 from 67.177.11.154

That's motivation!

I was thinking 18:3_ earlier so you've got three votes. 6 minute miles all the way.

From Andrea on Wed, Oct 16, 2013 at 21:21:04 from 67.177.11.154

My guess is 18:44 so definitely in the same range. Planning to go out right at 6 min pace and see what happens!

From Amy Folgers on Wed, Oct 16, 2013 at 22:20:33 from 166.70.240.95

Make that 4 votes. 18:3_ = cake!

From JulieC on Thu, Oct 17, 2013 at 21:20:36 from 63.224.116.230

Wow your 800 s are speedy compared to your 200s. :-)

From JulieC on Thu, Oct 17, 2013 at 21:21:53 from 63.224.116.230

I say that cause i can run 40 to 41 200s bu cant do the subthree 800s. I know u can run those 200s faster. Cause i am not fast.

From JulieC on Thu, Oct 17, 2013 at 21:27:14 from 63.224.116.230

My guess is 18:50 go andrea. I hope u r not offended by what i wrote...but rather .....motivated:-)

From Tara on Fri, Oct 18, 2013 at 17:21:21 from 75.169.138.247

18:40's on a 5k course. Short 5k course 18:28.Yep. Maybe you'll just casually throw down a sub 17, just for fun.

From JulieC on Fri, Oct 18, 2013 at 18:15:55 from 63.224.116.230

From JulieC on Fri, Oct 18, 2013 at 18:22:06 from 63.224.116.230

totally off subject....my nike flyknits are worn already on heal to white (black bottom)--365 miles...I see you have like 700 plus miles on a pair of shoes Andrea...what is normal??? Jake and Tara and Andrea I hope you can help me out here.

From Jake K on Fri, Oct 18, 2013 at 18:56:54 from 67.177.11.154

Depends on the shoe, but I don't usually retire shoes until they are in the 600-800 mile range. Andrea and I both probably alternate between 4-6 pairs at any given time, which extends the longevity quite a bit. I think she will admit, though, that she hasn't kept track of her shoe mileage in a long time :-) Those Omnis with 700 miles are probably from 2011.

From Jake K on Fri, Oct 18, 2013 at 19:03:53 from 67.177.11.154

Here's a list of some of the shoes I've retired over the past two years. So I'd say ~700 is the ballpark for me...
