Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Sent the JAJK crew out the door with best wishes, then took a nap for a while because it was only 5am and I had time to kill before getting out to the 14 mile mark. My job today was to support Jake in the marathon. 14 miles is the spot where runners have gotten out of the canyon and the first time spectators can see on the course. I had Jake's special drink of Gatorade Endurance and a GU ready for him throughout the rest of the race. I was able to stop at 14, 17, 19, 20, 22, 23, 24, and then the final stretch at 26 miles and cheer/hand him drinks. It is actually very easy to get around when you're working for the lead guy! I am so proud of his first marathon win. It was really fun to be a part of it.

After Jake finished, I watched the other finishers come through. Wow - what a women's field. Part of me really wanted to be a part of that, but the looks of pain at the end of the race also made me glad that I wasn't! :) So excited for lots of people that raced well today.

My actual 1 mile run consisted of going as fast as I could (9 min mile pace, probably!) from the 24 to the 26 mark so I wouldn't miss Jake finishing.
