Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc. 

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Great long run this morning! Met up with James, Jake, Chad, Devra, Emily B, and May - what a great (and quite an elite) group. The first half of the run flew by with lots of conversation and fun times. THIS is why I love running. First 15 miles were at 7:02 pace

The last 5 miles were scheduled for marathon pace of 6:19. Devra, Emily, and I picked it up a little fast in 6:07. I decided that I could hold the pace for 4 more miles, so I averaged 6:06 for 5 miles. I think I finally hit that "the moment you know" that you can run a marathon (see Lauren Fleshman's blog).

I started to feel my hamstring tendon (pain near the insertion point on the fibula - knee area). I didn't have cramping, just a little discomfort. I can handle that in the marathon, although I hope it goes away by then.

I really hope these group runs continue. We hung around for a while afterwards and chatted more :)

wow, a VERY excellent run! Sub MP and you knowing nothing can stop you now. Can't complain at all about that.

Glad you had a great run!! Awesome work out there. Oh, and group runs are definitely MY favorite (and the reason I run) as well.

Fantastic work out there Andrea! That "easy" pace kept creeping itself down. I really hope the hamstring is nothing and you can get to the start healthy. Perhaps next year I can hit some of the tempo workouts with you all.

Awesome run Andrea! You should be fit enough to qualify. All it's going to take is a few more solid weeks of training and some good weather!
