Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Flew into Sao Paulo, Brazil last night. Took a taxi this morning to Ibirapuera Park and it is awesome! They call it the "Central Park" of Brazil and it has a 4 mile loop dirt trail along the perimeter with beautiful bamboo trees and huge trees with vines everywhere. It was beautiful. I didn't take my camera today because I didn't want to carry it for 13 miles, but I'll try to get some good pictures tomorrow. My run went pretty well - the 7:45-8 min pace felt easy compared to running on the treadmill. I ran a couple miles really slow with a co-worker and then ran at my pace. At 8 miles my back got so tight that I couldn't run anymore, so I stopped and massaged it for a minute then was good to go for the rest of the run. I threw in a faster 6:25 last mile.

Now we are off to check out the other sights!

Wow! What a beautiful place to run. I'm super jealous of your trip to Brazil. I speak Portuguese after serving an LDS mission in Portugal and would love to give it a test drive in Sao Paulo. Definitely on my bucket list.

What took you to Brazil?

Awesome place to run! Great fast finish too. This has been your best week of training this year, despite all the travel and being out of your routine. Way to go!!!

Scott - you would love Brazil. I wish I could speak Portuguese right now!! I'm in Brazil for work - we are trying to make a new manufacturing line here.

It's so nice to ditch the treadmill. It'll be totally worth the taxi cost the next couple days to run in a beautiful area!

Oh, so horribly jealous!!! Beautiful run in a beautiful place - especially off any dumb ol' TM!

That is stunning! Great job at getting your runs in while traveling. I always struggle with that.
