Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

You need to eat more noodles!

From SlowJoe on Wed, Dec 12, 2012 at 14:28:24 from 155.219.241.10

74 lbs...forget the noodles and go for the deep-fried Snickers.

How is it running on that thing anyway, pretty cool?

Yeah it's pretty cool. A little awkward because you are held in place and it doesn't allow for a lot of pelvic movement...but that's actually a great thing for me right now. Once you get to about 50% body weight you lose the natural footstrike and then 20% body weight is like floating. It really is an ideal tool for dealing with injuries.

Great idea with the Alter-G. Unbelievable the doctor cancelled your appt. Very upsetting. I've never known him to treat patients that way -- normally he is very accommodating. Very sorry to hear that. Definitely not cool!

It's really not that big of a deal, the front desk people just accidently scheduled me at a bad time and forgot to call me. I was really struggling yesterday so it was just a big disappointment. They made up for it by calling today :) So we're on good terms now.

The Alter-G is awesome, I need one at home!

Glad you are on better terms. Keep at it Andrea. You're going to figure this thing out sooner or later!

That's some serious PT equipment. Hope it does the trick! We need a community one for the blog.

That's fantastic news!

I've always wanted to try an Alter-G TM, but at those prices I could do maybe 4 min! :)

Hope the Dr appt reschedule is for sooner than later. I hate that you are still struggling with this!
