Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

PM - After a long day of traveling and then working, my motivation level was at about 2 for a workout. I ate a couple scoops of ice cream once I got home which brought my level up to 3 - enough to get me out the door. I ran a 2.5 mile warm-up then got into my planned 4 mile tempo at marathon pace. The pace felt surprisingly comfortable so I extended the tempo out and ran it slightly faster than MP. 5.5 miles at 6:14 pace. Ended with a short cooldown for a total of 8.7 miles. Going to take it easy the next two days for the half marathon on Saturday.

I got to try out some new shoes that I got from my visit to the Saucony headquarters - Fastwitch 6. They aren't out in stores yet, but they are pretty awesome. I currently have the Fastwitch 5 (which I love) and I could tell that these have a little less support and are about an ounce lighter. I think they will be great for me in a couple months...but with my recent foot injuries I'll probably stick with the 5s for this weekend for a little extra support. The headquarters has a track runway down the middle of their work hallway and shoes everywhere - I want to work there!!

Nice kicks! Ice cream solves a lot of motivation problems, doesn't it?

Nice shoes. What foot injuries do you have? I wasn't aware you had any.

Awesome tempo Adrea and those shoes are sweet!

I think I might have to invest in a pair of fast twitches.

The women's FT5s have some sweet pink and purple color schemes.

Yeah, this pair is actually one of the men's styles. Apparently my feet are too manly to run in womens shoes. The womens colors are awesome though! We got to check out a lot of the other shoes that they are coming out with and the trend is very bright and colorful (but not ugly like Allie's test shoes).

I love Saucony's.

I like the shoes and I like you. I even like your fast workout. But what I like most is your energy increase from icecream. I like that A LOT and I will do that too the next time I plan to run a 5 mile tempo at 6:15. I think Jake has told us all a lie, there is a secret:)
