Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Nothing. I feel gross - obviously I have issues with not exercising! I'm taking the next few weeks super easy. Exercising less = eating less = no fun! I need some new hobbies.

PM - Strength training/massaging for what seemed like forever.

Maybe we should get into video games. It seems like guys like Farah, Rupp, Bolt just train and play video games the rest of the day. Maybe that is the secret?

You can come over and beat on my bongo drums! Or I bet Fritz would let you borrow his 8-bit Nintendo.

No but seriously, if you find any new hobbies that don't involve physical activity and/or eating that are fun let me know. I've been looking for some for a good year now :)

I am so behind on this blog. What's up with you? Are you hurting? Less of this and that usually mean hurt :(

Yeah, my body is falling apart. My hamstrings are aching all day and I tweaked my right psoas muscle. With those two problems, I am compensating too much with other muscles. The 15 miler on Saturday really let me see how bad it is...I felt fine on the run, but afterwards I was limping and very sore in places that I am never sore. Not a good sign! So rest it is...what sucks is that cross training isn't an option either b/c the hamstrings and psoa are so important for every movement...ugh. I can do arm weight lifting - maybe I'll try to get my arms to look less like a pole :)

You should start rowing or canoeing. :) Maybe you can talk Jake into buying you a canoe.

Underwater basketweaving....

Sorry you're not feeling so hot.

Kayaking / Tubing > Canoeing / Rowing

Waterparking might eclipse all of those things.

We need water activities!

i can hook you up with a tubing plan: henefer to taggart on the weber river after the dart challenge in two weeks.

until then -- walking! (i'm being serious and camille herron would agree). i once spent a whole week power walking with dumbbells because i couldn't do any other form of cross training. it was actually a really good workout -- going up hills with weights in hand can get your HR up pretty quickly. it also works wonders on the biceps. i would be happy to join you. also, mario kart tournaments while doing plank.

As I said before, a massage that felt like forever can't be all bad? Just trying to be that silver lining while you get through this...

I had to comment on this--love the exercising less=eating less and for my that = a completely psychotic and hard to live with wife and mother.
