Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Just some stretching and a bunch of shorter walks...we got our 16 year old overweight foster dog today. She has a bum leg (lick granuloma) but is surprisingly very mobile - just so excited and happy to be outside and free.  Very rewarding and good for all parties - we are going to get healthy again together! Plus, it's really nice to think about something besides rehab and work for a little while :)

They are wonderful dogs. They love to run too :) I'm guessing at her age she needs to take it easy (ancient for the breed really). I played with my brother's dog Kelsie (she's a pointer) a bit while I was home. She tore her ACL a while back. Or whatever the dog ligament equivalent is. I felt bad that I had to tell her we had to stop throwing the tennis ball (she's getting older). My parents have had 4. If I had a reasonable area for one to run around it's what I would get.

Have fun!

Yeah Jason, they are running machines. We fostered a young one a few years ago... she got US in shape, just trying to use up some of her energy so she'd sleep at night. There was actually an interesting discussion on Letsrun yesterday about whether dogs could break 2 hrs for the marathon... people who owned GSPs were like "yeah, no problem."

The old lady we have now is a little easier to manage w/out having a yard. After her walk this morning, she's slept on the couch for about 5 straight hours now.

I know they are capable of running 30 mph, and that is maybe 10k effort :) They definitely have another gear. Some very in-depth research I did suggests top speed of 45 mph, which sounds about right. 13 mph for 2 hours? Makes sense to me.
