Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - mini-Fritz workout. 30 minutes on the stairmaster and 10 minutes on the rowing machine. Of course the cardio that feels the best on my hamstring is also the one I dislike the most and is the most boring - rowing machine!

PM - Strength training class 35 minutes.

PM2- 30 min split between exercise bike, elliptical, and treadmill. Running felt so great, except the hamstring issue. It was so much easier running that doing anything else! Going to cross train one more day then hopefully can run while I'm in TN.

I see you have signed up for the Fritz 101 course. Let's hope you don't have to take and graduate level courses.

Funny how they didn't list Jenny B's gold and Centro's bronze from the WC. Those seem a lot more impressive than the 100K team getting a silver in a (relatively) noncompetitive event. Although maybe they are classifying the 1500m as middle distance and separating the categories. They must be drawing a line, b/c I would definitely put "Morgan Uceny's entire 2011 season" on there as well.

Nice workout in the Fritz program!

lagat makes three of the ten spots! very nice. jenny b's gold was definitely one of my favorites this year. there was also that special moment at the utah valley marathon when the inflatable finish line momentarily collapsed with runners underneath it and others trying to get through.

I think it's pretty cool there's a trail and an ultra on the list!

Jon - I'm sure you probably feel the same way as me... Mike Wardian and Max King ABSOLUTELY deserve to be on that list. They may not have the individual performances like Rupp/Lagat, but man - they are so consistent, durable, and can race on any type of terrain. Plus they pretty much both seem like regular, blue collar guys. I love it. Definitely two guys that inspire me a lot.
