Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Track workout. 2 x 200 then 8 x 400 w/ 200 jog between reps. 200s in 40, 42 and 400s in 83, 82, 81, 82, 81, 81, 80, 80. I hit my goal of a little faster than 5k pace (84 seconds for 400s). My legs were fatigued from the week, so I didn't push it too hard. Long run tomorrow is more important!

I haven't been sleeping well the last few days; I don't feel like I'm getting into that deep sleep - just lots of dreaming.

PM - 2 mile shakeout run. I got new Saucony Kinvaras today (had to go up to a size 10.5 - ouch) so I wanted to try them out. They feel good!

Its called "restless sleep because you can't decide whether or not to run a marathon this fall syndrome." :-)

It's a tough decision!!!

From JG on Fri, Sep 09, 2011 at 11:30:52 from 66.168.207.228

Do it!! It is only double the distance of a Half! :)

From Andrea on Fri, Sep 09, 2011 at 11:36:41 from 72.37.244.100

That's what I'm worried about!

From JG on Fri, Sep 09, 2011 at 11:47:33 from 66.168.207.228

I am sure you would do well Andrea, and my guess is it would help you to be a stronger racer in the Half next year!

Andrea, I bet you could get into the Saint George Marathon. Do it! :)

From Jake K on Fri, Sep 09, 2011 at 12:50:22 from 155.100.226.53

If St George still "counted" I'd be telling her the same thing, Lily! :-)

Nice workout! And seriously you are so beyond ready to make the jump to the marathon. You never cease to amaze me.
