Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Short 3 mile jog around the block.

Then we headed up to the mountains for a beautiful ski tour. Started at Brighton and skinned up to Catherine's Pass. We had never been over this way before, so it was really fun to check out a new place. The area has great options for skiing - from mellow bowl skiing to steep couloirs. It will probably be one of our go-to spots in the future. After a couple laps of awesome skiing there, we headed to the top of Tuscarora via bootpack then traversed the ridge over to Wolverine Bowl. A couple laps there and a long route back to the car. Total of 6.6 miles and 3800 ft.

It was a very typical "Jake and Andrea Adventure Day" with Jake triggering a couple wet avalanches, us both making things way more difficult than they needed to be (the bootpack up steep terrain), me chickening out on a sketchy ice couloir, skiing with our skins on because we were too lazy to take them off, and a crazy trail fiasco back out to the car. Good times :)

wow, that is some serious fun! don't ever have kids...it's not worth it :) -can you tell I'm jealous and ready to duct tape my kids today?!?

From Jake K on Mon, Apr 30, 2012 at 13:01:57 from 155.100.226.54

hahaha RAD I am cracking up at that! You are not allowed to say that in Utah :-)

If you end up duct-taping the kids, use a fun color tape like orange or pink

From RAD on Mon, Apr 30, 2012 at 13:13:45 from 98.202.23.178

Oh no...we use white duct tape. Blends into the wall color so that when people come over they don't see the kids taped up there....out of sight, out of mind!

Haha! I can't even imagine having kids right now. I need a few more years to be selfish! :)

I'm sure they have some kind of ski with your new born baby contraption :)

Plus if their offspring of you and Jake they'll probably be able to run sub 7 min pace and back country ski in a matter of months!!
