Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - JAJAK Run...we moved it to Tuesday this week so we could run up at Alta tomorrow. It was a fun run, as usual, with the crew. Jake told me I was limping/favoring my right leg while we were running. This makes me really sad because I thought my hamstring was doing okay. I definitely don't want to cause another problem because I'm compensating.

This is a great blog entry by Lauren Fleshman who is running the 5K at the Trials.

It wasn't like a major gimpy limp - just seems like you were favoring that leg a tiny bit. More noticeable in the very beginning of the run. But then again, I usually limp through the first mile too...

I love this...

"When you recognize that failing doesn’t make you a Failure, you give yourself permission to try all sorts of things"

Lauren was probably the happiest 6th place finisher of all-time last night.

Warm that hammy up :) You are lucky to have someone keeping you in check. I loved the entry by Lauren and I was SO happy for her. I loved one of her entries where she said one of the reasons for not scratching the trials was "to set the world record for fastest 5k on least weekly mileage." Her time was so impressive for only running 10 miles a week (+ some extreme xtraining).

I do not even want to know what people think about my running form. ha! It would probably actually be smart to have someone watch me every once in a while.

Nice running this morning. :)

are you doing any active movements (skips, leg swings, etc) before you start running? I wonder if that would help?
