Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Gallo-walking. Looks like the walk-jog is where I'll be at for a while. The run was overall not too bad but I'm not taking any chances. Ran 1.5, walk, ran 0.75, walk, ran 0.75.

PM - Boot camp class for 30 minutes and a walk around the block.

Salt Lake Marathon used me in a photo - they are rubbing it in that I'm injured!!!

That's exactly what I was thinking. If I'm not mistaken that is just about the last race you really enjoyed. Nice photo none the less.

Oh my! That is horrible! Not the picture, but the message :(

From Jake K on Wed, Sep 19, 2012 at 09:34:40 from 155.100.226.191

Its a great photo, but that message is just kind of eerie.

Also - I'm not convinced that is actually a Michael Jordan quote... and MJ drafted ADAM MORRISON, so as much as I love the guy, we shouldn't take anything he says seriously.

Very cool picture....but seriously this made me so sad. :(

I was right there with you on the gallo theory this morning! I have a new found respect for 5+ hour marathoners.

Are you kidding me?!? They seriously posted that?!? Do they know you're injured and at your wits end right now? Crazy, the irony!

Glad you got a bit of running in today, and I hope those injections are helping as well.

Wow, that is really crazy. It is a great pic of you - even if that message is a little creepy.

You are tough and amazing, Andrea!

I know that you WILL BE HEALTHY again and running PRs. Hang in there.

Nice that they recognize your talent, but that is just a cruel quote to add to the picture.

Good advertisement for Saucony too!

From Andrea on Thu, Sep 20, 2012 at 09:12:29 from 72.37.244.100

It really is a terrible quote.

Jeff - at least now I have something to put on the 3rd quarter reviews besides "I took a lot of photos of other people running" :)

From NatalieK on Thu, Sep 20, 2012 at 13:41:10 from 24.2.101.184

Two things.

1. Did they really put that quote on your picture? If so, that's awful!

2. As I was looking at your picture, my two year old kept pointing to you and saying, "Mama! Look, Mama!" I'm flattered.

From Adam RW on Thu, Sep 20, 2012 at 20:56:26 from 155.101.152.123

If they know you are injured that is horrible. If not it is still a horrible coincidence. The only place I found it attributed to MJ was "One More Step the 638 Best Quotes for the Runner: Motivation for the Next Step!

By Randy L. Thurman" on Google Books.

Here is a much better quote I heard while living in St. Louis.

“I like to describe running to people as an abusive relationship. Running can build you up; convince you that you are star, make you think you are in control. Then in a blink of the eye it beats you down, shatters your confidence, and erases your dreams. You swear that you are done with it, yet you always come back. It may not be the next day, or even the next week, but you always come back. -Katie Sutton

after winning the St. Louis St. Patrick Day Parade 8K 2007"
