Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Easy horsepark loop. Track workout this afternoon.

FREE ICE CREAM at  Cold Stone Creamery tonight 5-8pm!

PM - Track workout. It was HOT outside! 2 mile warmup, 2x200 then 1600, 1200, 800, 400 at 5k pace with 400m jog in between reps. :40, :43, 5:37, 4:15, 2:49, 1:24. My times were slightly slower than goal pace, but I hit the effort level I was trying for which is most important. This was the last hard workout for a while (not including the race on Sat) which is pretty exciting! Now I get to taper and absorb the training.

Did I just see the words free and ice cream in the same sentence? Thanks for the heads up!

nice workout in the heat -- i think it's worth at least two free servings of ice cream.

So are you going for otq in Philadelphia? You definitely have the talent, and have the time to get in some marathon-specific training. Here's to hoping we can keep our bodies healthy and strong through the training. Good luck on your 5k this weekend.
