Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 30 min on the elliptical with mini-workout of 1 mile at 6:36, then 3x1min and 2x30s. It's tiring to go that fast on the elliptical! Finished off with power yoga for 20 min.

PM - 6.3 miles around Sugarhouse. It was absolutely beautiful outside - I'm loving this weather. Legs felt fatigued and overall I felt pretty lousy so I decided to run easy and hit the track another day. Saw Rob Murphy several times but I couldn't catch him and I think he was trying to avoid me.

Heard on the radio this morning that there are more heart attacks and less productivity the Monday after daylight savings time. Not to mention the dark and more dangerous conditions for runners  in the morning! I say we follow AZ's example and boycott the time change.

I second the motion.. I'll vote for you anytime.

I gotta say...I like what DST does for the summer hours. I HATE the change - forward and back, but I do like it in June, July and August.

RAD - you are a night owl, aren't you? Since I go to bed around 9pm anyways, I don't need it to be light out until 9:30pm in the summer! haha

I third the motion....I HATE daylight savings! I could not even fall asleep until after 10pm last night. I act like I am 85 and am usually asleep by 9pm. I'd fit in perfectly in AZ. :)

ugh, I don't like the time switching around.

From RAD on Mon, Mar 12, 2012 at 10:10:58 from 98.202.23.178

Now what ever would give you the idea that I'm a night owl? The fact that I can never get my butt to bed before 11PM and still punish myself by getting up at 5AM to work out and walk around in a semi-sleep-coma all day? No...definitely NOT me :)

There are more car crashes too. It has always puzzled me how we can just change time. I do like the longer nights though.

my vote is to change the time one hour ahead every day starting on monday, so that by saturday night, the sun sets at midnight. then reset on sunday and do it all again!

vote for me.

You've been ramping it up pretty good lately - you'll have some feel lousy days but thats part of the drill as you build it back up!

From DaleG on Mon, Mar 12, 2012 at 21:32:51 from 71.199.57.238

I totally wish they would get rid of daylight savings time. Seems like so many people don't like it, but every time they propose to do away with it, everyone votes to keep it.

Nice job keeping it easy today.

Late to the party, but I agree with all the "get rid of DST" arguments. Arizona does have it right. A friend said that DST is like cutting the bottom off a blanket and sewing it to the top and thinking that the blanket is longer now.
