Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 3.2 miles with Jake this morning.

PM -  Track workout. Warmed up 2 miles with Kevin and Jake, then ran 6x1000m + 4x400m with 200m recovery jog between all intervals. 1000s at average 3:38.3 (5:51 pace) and 400s at 1:28.3 (5:55 pace). The initial plan was to do 8 reps of 1000, but I couldn't maintain the pace after 6 so I dropped down to 400s. Obviously I was tired because my 400s are slower than my 1000s. Not upset about the workout at all, I'm actually pleased - I got almost 5 miles at goal half marathon pace. I was working pretty hard too, mentally and physically. I think the 15 mph wind played a pretty big factor in the workout today. Cooldown 2 miles with J and K again around the park perimeter.

Also, not sure if everyone saw this on Jake's blog a couple days ago -

FYI - If anyone is interested, we're doing a longish run (15-18 miles) on Saturday at Jeremy Ranch, and then planning on breakfast at Ruth's Diner afterwards (brunch around 11:30 if you want to skip the run and just eat!). Thinking we'll meet around 8:30am and then drive up there in as few cars as possible. If anyone wants to join, let me know. Ritz, Rupp, and Farah are likely to be up there as well, although no one is required to try and hang w/ them :-)

Chad we'll let you know where we end up deciding to meet on Saturday morning.

Chad can do the run and then I will take his place at breakfast :) The skinny burrito is my fave. Hope the back is better! More yoga...

Lulu - it's actually a pretty nice bike ride on the dirt road, with lots of ups and downs. You could bike along with us! Definitely consider coming for Ruth's!!

From Jake K on Thu, May 10, 2012 at 11:23:00 from 155.100.226.54

Yeah if you want to borrow one of our Mtn Bikes and join us, feel free.

I've also invited all the real elite runners training in PC for the olympic trials... we'll see if any of them show up :-)

From Chad Robinson on Thu, May 10, 2012 at 11:58:35 from 50.73.39.89

Yes Lulu, I tend to be lots of peoples faves :)

From RAD on Thu, May 10, 2012 at 13:35:26 from 98.202.23.178

HA! The comment about inviting all the elites just made my stomach feel nauseated. nope, too much pressure for fat, slow ol' me! :) Maybe I'll just join you for the portion I can win at...eating! I am quite talented in that arena!! Darn kids thinking that they can play sports and do active things, messes with having fun with MY friends :( I guess I shouldn't complain, I'm getting out of them next weekend. Have fun y'all!!

Chad - ha! that was good :)

From Kam on Thu, May 10, 2012 at 13:37:49 from 68.66.163.179

I may send the Fox 13 news team up there to cover the event. Have a great time!

Chad I was really talking about fake eggs and beans with ranchero sauce, but I think you may have a new nickname :)

Andrea/Jake - If I can manage to get my pedals off my road bike and back onto my mountain bike I may just meet you.

From Hamdog Alum on Thu, May 10, 2012 at 20:56:24 from 71.82.247.163

Great workout on what sounds like a tough day!

From DaleG on Thu, May 10, 2012 at 22:48:45 from 152.216.7.5

I'm with Rachel, too much pressure and very intimidating. But have fun, regardless of who shows up.
